i have so fucking many aus so i'll ramble about a few

my latest one takes inspiration from this post and it's basically, dazai takes in atsushi and the akutagawa siblings, but realizing he can't really find a job to support all of them at once, he decides to go and (try to) reopen odasaku's favorite curry place. there are a few issues.

he is Not a great cook

atsushi can only make chazuke

aku and gin don't know how to cook

the place is kind of a mess

so eventually he goes and calls up chuuya and he's like "hey, you know how to cook, can you help me" problem is, chuuya's pissed at him bc THIS is when he calls him again and it's not an explanation of why he left, not a "sorry for blowing up ur car", not any of that, it's just another favor. so his immediate response is "fuck you, no" and dazai has to nag him into coming and helping, this being via taking some random pm member for hostage and specifically requesting that chuuya come pick him up

chuuya does indeed arrive, but he also breaks dazai's nose, so dazai ends up vaguely explaining with an ice pack on his face lmfao. this bit is what i have planned most vividly and is hopefully? gonna be a fic i publish. but also, later, ranpo ends up at the curry place and is like "damn you live like this" and dazai replies just kinda, "either order or get out" but ranpo offers him a better job (that being working at the ada), and while he hesitantly agrees, it's only a part time thing for the first bit. also although i haven't decided yet i think he might also end up finding kyouka before the pm gets to her and tachihara before the hunting dogs find him bc i am weak to 1. found family 2. BIG found families.

chuuya is absolutely fucking baffled when he runs into dazai during an ada job, btw.

cowboy au (btw, they still have abilities) where nathaniel is a travellng priest looking for a doctor to cure margaret who's deathly sick, and he hasn't really been having any luck (he's been searching for months to no avail), and eventually at this one town it's like.. it's late at night, nathaniel's thirsty, he heads to the bar to get some water. nikolai promptly swaps their drinks, nathaniel drinks something really strong and passes the fuck out, wakes up to being in an inn room (with noteably less money) and storms the hell out of the building just to find nikolai petting his horse and acting all innocent about doing anything. nathaniel just tries to leave, nikolai follows, and they travel like that for a bit (occasionally trying to kill each other) before they get the third member of their dysfunctional little party

do you remember that one kid fyodor killed?

this little guy (karma), is a pickpocket who steals nathaniel's bible in the hopes of selling it to get food. the two find him, both kinda realize his situation and while nathaniel is about to point him in the direction of the town's local church nikolai goes "fuck that" and just straight up kidnaps him, and they keep traveling. nathaniel and nikolai are mutually, regrettably, falling for one another, but this just manifests as more murder attempts, to the point that one night, nathaniel tries to strangle nikolai, nikolai wakes up and strangles him back, and when nathaniel passes out he fucking dreams about nikolai and is HORRIFIED. things only get worse and gayer from there and i also think they go on a train at some point.

karma's enjoying the horse rides at least, and there's some other characters that show up though tbh idk who besides this one dazai scene and gin at one point

okay this other au is shorter, but basically: ada kajii. this is built off of SO many headcanons, but essentially kajii's backstory is just the lemon short story. except that kajii never found lemons, bc instead kunikida (his old friend/school friend that fell out of contact with him) reaches out, they become friends again, and so when kunikida joins the ada, so does kajii. kajii works as a clerk bc, like, he doesn't. know he has an ability. Oh Boy Does He Get A Surprise during dead apple

SO instead!! shiburan au, an au i never. properly named beyond that it's a shibusawa x ranpo focused au. also co owned with my bestie @feralshadowdemon <33

basically, yokohama is a smaller, calmer seaside town, no abilities or anything. shibusawa moves in, working at the pet shop across the street from this coffee shop that's connected to a bookstore. the coffee shop is run by (most of) the ada, and the bookstore is run by yokomizo; mushitaro and poe work there. the members of the ada who work at the coffee shop are fukuzawa (he owns it), ranpo, kunikida, and yosano. dazai is fukuzawa's newest adopted kid, and ran away from home. (he was living with mori (and elise) before) yosano Understands his situation, having done the same years before.

ranpo starts going over to the pet shop a lot, both bc he's running errands (fukuzawa owns three cats) and bc he likes talking to shibusawa. they eventually exchange phone numbers and start texting. in the background of this, btw, is soukoku: they had a messy breakup years ago, they act like they don't like each other, etc etc normal skk things. the flags are a biker gang who are alive and well here, and chuuya hangs out with them a lot. dazai is a bit jealous of them, ranpo knows this, and so when chuuya starts volunteering at the pet shop, ranpo brings dazai along on an errand run so the two run into each other again. they start talking again, slowly bonding again by virtue of wingmaning shiburan

Today, when I got up, I was so relieved to have a day off. This past week I only had 2 days off of work, and also this is my first Sunday I've had off in likeee 4 months!

I got up this morning and my mom and step mom had made sausage and fried green tomatoes. She asked me to try them, and I was right in front of her, so I was like uhh okay.

It was only 2 slices of fried green tomatoes so I had them and it was fine, but then I only had like half a sausage because she wasn't watching me closely anymore.

The rest of the day I was attempting VERY HARDLY ATTEMPTING to do homework, but I was distracted :c

Then, my plan was to make some low cal pizza. Like "cloud pizza" or smth? I even mentioned it to my step mother. I EVEN TOLD MY MOM. BUT THEY BOTH HATE ME AND DONT GIVE A FUCK APPARENTLY. because later when my step mom cooked they were like are you gonna eat?

honestly i. have not done much at all. ever. so this is a tough one (and also bc i cannot for the life of me remember ANYTHING abt my life suddenly). idk if this counts, but. ive been told several times that im the kind of person people can come to when they have problems, either for advice or just to have someone listen to them. that at times ive been the only one they could turn to. and i consider my ability to become (and keep being) that person despite everything an accomplishment. its either that or learning mostly-proper, semi-advanced english in like 2 weeks after we moved to the states but i was like. 7. and kids that age are sponges so its not rlly anything special?

either that i did ballet (albeit briefly) or that i used to be a social butterfly. im a pretty closed off person nowadays, riddled with anxiety and constantly too nervous to speak up. so i think if i told people that, at some point, i was not only social, but *popular*, they would not believe me. i could strike up a conversation with anyone. was literally getting bullied and i chatted with them like nothing was happening. fun times. wish i was still that kid sometimes

what a horrible day to only listen to game osts lmfao. buuut maybe lemon demon, will wood, and mitski?? ld is kind of the. whatevers up with my brain. the hyper and excitable part that gets buried under the issues. the hyperfixations and the random info and oh its the neurodivergence. his songs exude a sort of vibe that i want to have and think i do have in the privacy of my own thoughts. never ask me abt his songs i will not shut up (i could write whole essays overanalyzing his music). will wood is the loudness and the issues that arent (necessarily) neurodivergence and also the gender issues. kind of vibes i wish i had also in the sense that his songs are so. in your face. a bit nonsensical at times, hard to make out, but you can feel the emotion so plainly. and then mitski is like. every song i hear from her is just my thoughts with a backing track. its actually kind of insane and i need her to stop bc i cannot listen to her songs like a normal person. anyway yeah across the three of those i think the common theme is "mental illness" and i do not know what that says abt me (i know what that says abt me)

[Player 1, 'Yoo Joonghyuk' -nim, is playing the role of 'Zhu Bajie'.] [Player 2, 'Lee Jihye' -nim, is playing the role of 'Sha Wujing'.] [Player 3, 'Lee Gilyoung' -nim, is playing the role of 'Tang Sanzang'.] … [Player 8, 'Watcher of Light and Darkness' -nim, is playing the role of 'Sun Wukong'.] She stared at that list for a very long time, then suddenly rubbed her eyes while tilting her head back. How long passed by like that? Han Sooyoung let out "Ah, aaaah" noise, and started cackling away.

So all this time they really have been aggressively protecting and pampering this complete stranger who is standing in as a substitute for Dokja?

Like, they're letting out all of their frustration and grief and guilt and just all of their pent up emotions in general by playing pretend with some rando?

I did admittedly have the tiniest suspicion when Joonghyuk went out of his way to say that "Dokja" wasn't his companion since we've kind of already established that Joonghyuk only barely plays the part assigned to him and it just felt weird that he'd say that to Dokja.

But it was also so weird that he'd take food from him if he was a stranger or just the really "gentle" way that he's been treating him. I mean, gentle for Joonghyuk, where he says one thing but actually does something completely different.

Man, maybe Joonghyuk is even more soft-hearted that I thought and he actually pretty quickly takes to his companions? (Not that he considers them companions.) Or maybe it's just that some part of him sensed that he was similar to Dokja and he immediately latched onto him? Is he trying really, really hard to take his Master's words into account and actually be part of the group even when it's a complete stranger? Is this just how he acts when he can't immediately harm/kill someone due to the scenario???

Granted, this is the same Joonghyuk that Dokja has been diligently working on this entire novel and Joonghyuk himself said he's gone from being just coldblooded, non-caring (spoiler alert: he still cared) "Regressor" back to "Yoo Joonghyuk" because of Dokja so he’s not the same guy who started the novel by trying to see if his new "companion” could swim inside of a sea monster.

Okay but he has to know now, right? Dokja literally looked him in the eyes and said:

"Do the ones that can't remember anything…" I stared straight at Yoo Joonghyuk and replied. "…also forget about their sorrow, too?"

I mean, I think at this point Joonghyuk being a Regressor is probably common knowledge for the Constellations due to them always watching and gossiping and the filter being lifted, but he has to know that saving the Yogoes, even just temporarily, is such a Dokja move, not to mention saying that to him.

Pretty sure Gilyoung either knows now or has always known since he's flipped to just straight up calling him Dokja lmfao. And Yoosung for sure because her literal chant had his name in it...unless that was still just part of their "let's get all of our feelings for Dokja out by playing pretend" thing. She's always been able to sense him, though, so if nothing else you would think that she knows he's close by?

Well here’s hoping they don’t accidentally ruin things for him by acknowledging that he actually IS Dokja. Though, Dokja himself doesn’t seem overly worried even if he does become an outer god? He’s pretty certain he’ll become one along the same lines as Secretive Plotter and he’s probably right so...is that okay???
